Translator and proofreader since 1999, Member of the Chartered Institute of Linguists (London), I provide meticulously crafted, bespoke translations from German to English. Specialisms include academic articles, essays and websites; art and fashion; marketing and legal texts; CVs and job applications; proofreading and editing. Recent projects have included translating and proofreading texts accompanying major exhibitions for the Prussian Cultural Heritage Foundation (SMPK) Berlin; the translation of a variety of texts for a University; and the translation of marketing and website materials for Trevira GmbH, a leading textiles company.

About me

A trained and qualified translator, writer and researcher, I provide accurate, intelligent and nuanced translations of German texts into English. I hold the Diploma in Translation from the Chartered Institute of Linguists, London and a PhD from the University of York. My training as a researcher and writer combined with my business experience and curiosity about the world in general have given me the opportunity to work in a wide variety of fields, .most recently for the GeoForschungsZentrum (GeoSciences Research Centre, a Helmholtz Centre) in Potsdam. Since March 2018 I have been working as a translator and editor for the German Historical Institute in London, part of the Max Weber Foundation. I now divide my time between the UK and Germany, where I continue to build my professional networks.
